Overview
The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Co-op Student to join our Corporate Communications team within the Public Affairs (PA) division.
The PA division serves as the link between the OEB and key stakeholders, including the public, consumers, media, energy sector and government. We develop and manage integrated communication strategies that strengthen the OEB’s reputation, build consumer trust and ensure transparent information sharing in support of our mandate.
Responsibilities
You will have the opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of areas, including:
- Writing engaging content for internal and external audiences across a range of channels including newsletters, website etc.
- Supporting logistical and strategic planning for consumer outreach
- Assisting with the creation of briefing notes and presentations
- Contributing to the designing and development of promotions for corporate reports, internal communications, and events
- Support media relations activities
- Contributing to evaluation/analytics reporting.
- Performing other duties that will help you grow within your chosen discipline and field of study.
Qualifications
- Pursuing formal studies in communications, public relations or journalism
- An interest in public policy, the energy sector and government
- Superior writing and grammar skills
- Knowledge of popular social media platforms (blogs, "X", LinkedIn etc.)
- MS Office skills
- Extremely organized with strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Fast learner who can adapt complex concepts to simple ones.
