Overview
The Ontario Energy Board is currently seeking two (2) co-op students to join our team. This position reports to the Manager, Finance In this role you will have the opportunity to gain work experience that will complement your academic studies.
The Finance team is responsible for all aspects of corporate financial management, including budgeting and forecasting, reporting, accounts receivable and payable, internal audit and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Support the accounts payable and receivable functions
- Assist in analysis of expenses and expenditures
- Help mature the OEB’s risk management program and support the internal audit function
- Help create and revise financial polices
- Review and support the creation of presentations to the Executive Leadership Committee and the Board of Directors
- Provide other support to the Finance, Procurement and Facilities Division as needed
- Provide support to maintain the integrity GL in GP, including but not limited to accounts, cost centers, etc.
- Support the Accountant, Senior Accountant and Senior Financial Analyst with reporting and analysis required.
Qualifications
- Completion of 2nd or 3rd year of an accounting program registered in a co-op program at a recognized post-secondary institution
- Demonstrated coursework related to the process optimization or policy development, risk management, financial accounting and internal audit is an asset
- Ability to gather, analyze and compile data, then create visualizations to explain the findings (e.g., graphs and charts)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
