Overview
As a People and Culture (P&C) Co-op Student at the Ontario Energy Board, you will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources, from recruitment and onboarding to employee engagement, compensation and Benefits and Payroll. You will work closely with the People and Culture team to support the implementation and process mapping of P&C initiatives and contribute to creating a positive work environment for all employees.
The People and Culture team is responsible for all aspects of People and Culture management and other organizational service functions including labor and employee relations, compensation, benefits, talent management, succession planning and workforce planning as well as employee engagement.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the People and Culture team with various department initiatives (employee relations, leadership development and career development).
- Assist in documenting processes with an eye for improvement, making recommendations to the People and Culture team
- Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Help with various employee engagement and culture related initiatives
- Contribute to the development and updating of HR policies and procedures.
- Provide general administrative support to the People and Culture team.
- Maintain records and assist with data entry into HR software systems.
- Participate in employee recognition and training programs
Qualifications
- Completion of 2nd or 3rd year of a HR related program registered in a co-op program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Demonstrated coursework related to Compensation and Benefits, Human Resources Management, Talent Acquisition is an asset.
- Ability to gather, analyze and compile data, then create visualizations to explain the findings and document processes (e.g., graphs and charts, process maps)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Team player
- Can-do approach, curious and results oriented, growth minded
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Visio)
